About 285 miles right through downtown Houston, yessireee.

Bye bye ocean and beach, on the way out of Jamaica Beach:

Downtown Houston, see I told ya!  LOL

How many layers do you count?  I count 5.  I know, sometimes I get these weird things that I become interested in, almost like artwork tho, isn't it?

My GPS said, take this road as a cut off, when I saw this underpass I momentarily panicked.  Till I read that we had 13 foot 8 inches.  We only need 13 foot 1 inch.  LOL

We crossed the Colorado River any number of times, I lost count, here is one such passing with a nice bridge, I love bridges, don't you?  Oh, and LOTS of clearance on this one!

As we passed through the Bastrop Texas area there was plenty (seemed like miles) of evidence of the fires from 2011.  There is a Wikipedia article about the fires.

Here in the cab of Jolly I do some navigating, with the aid of not one, not even two, but three different devices.  And, I still manage to direct us into situations where U turns are required.  GULP.  And, yes, there are also paper maps/atlases within grabbing distance.

We will spend Thanksgiving week in the Fredericksburg area, actually in Stonewall Texas, lots of history and beauty here.  Yes, I even cooked for turkey day!  LOL
